A quick introduction before showcasing my journey!

A quick introduction about me! My name is Lee Zhen Hao, born in the year 2000! My hometown is from Ipoh, Perak, and currently studying marketing as my major in INTI Subang College.

​

I like to explore new things in general, no matter philosophy, academics, or even art, as long as I found it to be interesting, I will divert all my energy to exploring it! That is why I love travelling and photography! I will map out my journey through defining moments that I am proud of and hopefully you would enjoy it!

It's the cookies that led me to study business and marketing! (2018-2019)

Let's begin my journey during my foundation studies. There was a spark ignited within my heart during an assignment where you are required to create a product or service to sell at Xiamen University for a day. Our group had decided to make cookies to sell onto. From there, we had gone through a lot of processes to make the cookies, from the recipe, ingredient purchasing, pilot, packaging, marketing and more essentially covering all 4P's in marketing. The experience of creating something from scratch with my teammates still felt so valuable for me. I still remember a customer that I never met, taking the poster that I designed and said that she wanted to try because the poster looked so appetizing, it made me realised the role of marketing in a business. In the end, our team had generated RM150 profit within 1 day! I still consider this experience led to my passion for business and marketing!

Becoming a Student Ambassador for INTI and Microsoft!! (2019-2021)

After my foundation and decided to study marketing as my undergraduate major, I had transferred to INTI Subang to pursuit my studies. 

​

From there, Career Services Department from INTI was recruiting new student ambassadors, after applying and interviewing, I had successfully become a student ambassador for INTI Subang which I am still active until now! Being a student ambassador made me be involved in many career-related activities, such as career preparation workshops, INTI Leadership Series (ILS), career fairs and alumni sharing sessions. I had led many sessions and being a contributing member for many career event sessions as well!

Being a student ambassador grant me the opportunity to apply for Microsoft Ambassadorship in Malaysia named Modern Workplace Squad. I successfully became a member of the Modern Workplace Squad in April 2020. And from there, I had also become squad leader and social media lead for the squad! Both ambassadorships are great opportunities for me to develop my soft skill indeed!

Time to apply what I had learnt! (2021)

After all these external activities that I participate in, I decided to step forward by proactively looking for competitions to join. 

​

The first competition I joined was a business case study competition called Unilever Future Leaders' League (UFLL) from Unilever Malaysia. I and my team were tasked to propose a marketing campaign for a new flavouring from Knorr. 

​

Despite being the first time joining a business competition, our team were enlisted to be national top 10!

​

Moving from there, I had also successfully enrolled on Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) mentorship by McKinsey. Within three months, I and my YLA team had created a social enterprise called Hoka Loka from scratch, intending to help struggling hawkers during the COVID-19 period.

Joined as Marketing Intern but learnt the importance of data analytics (2022)

Because of the extra curriculum and good academic results, I became a marketing intern in ShopeePay & ShopeeFood smoothly! 

​

I was appointed to two teams within the 3 months period: partnership marketing & features and growth marketing. While in the partnership team, my primary responsibility is to explore potential B2B collaborations with companies from several industries and educate them on B2B services provided by ShopeePay and ShopeeFood, I am very well-versed in creating proposals and communications, although its partnership, data is being thrown everywhere for both parties decision making, this is when I started to notice how important data is. 

​

After transitioning into features and growth marketing, I was in charge in CRM to prevent churn and grow the new user base. From here is where I see how A/B testing is being applied and how rapid performance marketing is coming in. Buyer uplift, Gross merchandise value, more and more, data is everywhere! 

 

Hence, after I finished my internship, I took up Google Data Analytics Course to play an essential role in this data-driven business environment.
